BURGLARY SCARSDALE, NY

On 7/17/23, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a jeweler was awakened by an alarm notification from her store’s security system. The owner notified the police. Upon the police’s arrival at the store, they discovered the front door was damaged, and the store was reportedly ransacked. Officers responded to the store within four minutes, but the burglars had already escaped with jewelry worth a high monetary value.

The subjects initially gained entry by prying open the store’s door. Police have stated there were multiple subjects involved and they have an idea of who some of the crew members are. This incident is the second jewelry store burglary in Scarsdale this year. The first incident occurred in March. In that crime, masked subjects used a crowbar to break into the store’s glass front door. They then broke through several display cases and stole jewelry also worth a high monetary value. Investigators have stated that four or five suspects have been arrested for the crime in March, and they are certain the two crimes are not related.
