CHECK FRAUD – OAHU, HI

On 4/29/17, at approximately 7:55 p.m., a suspect stated he wanted to buy a ring for his mother. He selected a ladies ring and presented a check for the purchase. When the store’s system requested an authorization code, the associates allowed the suspect to provide an authorization code. The transaction was completed and the suspect then left the store with merchandise. The fraud was not determined until after the bank processed the check. The suspect was described as a 30-year-old Black male. He is 6’0” and weighs 200 pounds. He has short black hair and a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a short sleeved plaid shirt with khaki pants and glasses.
