On 7/28/16, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a male subject inquired about diamond earrings. The sales associate removed an earring and gave it to the subject. The subject held it up to his ear, examined it, and then gave it back to the sales associate. After handing the earring back to the sales associate, the subject walked away from the showcase and started asking questions about a gold bracelet. Once the sales associate provided the price of the bracelet, the subject stated it was too expensive. He then left the store. The sales associate later realized the earring the subject handed back was a CZ earring. The subject was described as an African American Male. He is 5’10” and has a thin build. He has a tattoo of a name near his left eye and a tribal tattoo on the right side of his face. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt. If you have any information regarding the identity of this individual, please contact the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2767.
