DISTRACTION THEFT – DURHAM, NC

On 3/22/17, two suspects entered a store together, then separated. One of the sales associates showed bands to one of the men, while a second associate showed the other suspect gold chains. The suspects asked to look at several items. One sales associate went in and out of the showcases several times. She lost track of one of the chains the suspect held in his possession. The suspect stayed in the store for 30 minutes. One of the suspects said he wanted to exchange a ring for the chain. He said he would go to his car to get a ring and receipt. The suspect that took the chain was described as a 45-year-old black male. He is 5’5” tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has dark skin and a scruffy beard. He also has short curly hair.
