DISTRACTION THEFT – TRUMBULL, CT

On 9/5/19, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a female subject accompanied a male subject to a jewelry kiosk in a mall. The subjects expressed interest in rings. The sales associate presented two rings using the presentation pad. The female subject proceeded to try on both rings. During the presentation, the female subject dropped both rings on the floor. The sales associate observed the female subject pick up both rings and return a CZ on the presentation pad. The associate also saw the subject conceal the CZ ring in her left rear pocket. When the sales associate said she saw the subject put the heart ring in her pocket, the female subject denied having the ring. The male acted as if he did not know what happened. He began searching for the ring, but he was led away from the kiosk by the female subject.

The male subject is White, 5’8” and has a heavy build. He is approximately 60-years-old. The female subject is 5’2” and has a medium build. She is approximately 63-years-old.
