
East Point, GA– On February 10, 2026, a jewelry reported what appeared to be attempted burglary. An employee was in the back of the store and noticed a hole in the brick wall. After further discussion, it was suspected that the damage may have occurred during the prior week. It was also reported that another retailer in the vicinity had an exterior camera pointed toward the area of the damaged wall. After review, the video showed that on February 3, 2026, at approximately 1:37 AM ET, a suspect attempted to breach the brick wall using what appeared to be a sledgehammer or similar tool. During the attempt, the suspect appeared to be startled by an approaching sanitation truck and fled the area into a wooded section nearby. The damage to the wall did not fully penetrate the structure, and no entry was made into the store. A police report was filed regarding the incident.
