On 10/27/21, a distraction theft occurred at a retail jewelry store. A male and female entered the site under the pretense of shopping for a ring for an upcoming family reunion. During the presentation, the female subject asked the team member numerous questions about a particular ring, and distracted the team member while the showcase was open. The male subject then reached into the showcase and removed an element with six pieces, and concealed the jewelry under a large coat he was carrying. The male subject then exited the store stating he was going to check on t-shirts being printed. The female subject exited shortly thereafter. The primary subject was described as a Black male. He is 5’10′, weighs 240 lbs., and is believed to be in his mid 50’s, with glasses. He was last seen wearing a dark coat, a dark hat, dark pants, a multi-colored face mask, and he was carrying a coat over his right arm. The female subject is Black, and weighs approximately 210 lbs. She has a heavy build and long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a dark coat, a dark stocking hat, and a blue disposable face mask. She also carried a large handbag.  If you have any information regarding these subjects, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at or 212-687-0328.
