GRAB AND RUN – COLUMBIA, SC

On 11/5/19, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a male subject entered a jewelry store and approached a gold showcase. The subject asked to see gold chains and gold crosses. Once both items were removed from the showcase, the subject asked to place the pendant on the chain. A sales associate placed the pendant on the chain and then the male subject secured the chain around his neck. Once it was secured around his neck, the subject glanced at the mirror and then fled from the store. He entered a silver Nissan Altima.

The subject has committed five grab & run thefts within the last month. He has committed three in Columbia, SC, one in Augusta, GA and one in Savannah, GA. He is targeting gold chains and gold bracelets. The subject has been seen in a white Z71 truck and a silver Nissan Altima. He is described as a Black male in his late 30’s to early 40’s.
