On 10/2/17, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a suspect inquired about bridal rings and stated that he wanted to upgrade his girlfriend’s ring. The suspect asked several questions regarding the quality of the diamond. The suspect asked to see two of the largest diamond rings. The associate proceeded to remove both of them from the showcase. As the associate was giving the presentation, he held onto one ring and the suspect had control of the other. The associate became uncomfortable and retrieved the suspect’s ring and put it on the element on the counter. The suspect then grabbed the ring off of the element and fled from the store. He was described as an 18-year-old Black male. He has a light skin complexion and a slender build. He also has facial discolorations and a scar on his thumb. He was last seen wearing a gray beanie style hat and dark clothes. If you have any information regarding this suspect’s identity, please call the Eaton County Police Department at (517) 543-3512.
