Montclair, CA–Surveillance video captured the moment a store clerk confronted an armed suspect during a robbery at a jewelry store in Montclair Place mall on Feb. 12.

According to a report by KTLA 5, the incident occurred at Fast-Fix Jewelry and Watch Repairs just after 7:30 p.m. A masked suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and a stun gun before charging behind the counter toward clerk Alin Ouhan.

The report details that the suspect smashed a display case and began grabbing items. Ouhan responded by attempting to disarm the man. The two engaged in a physical struggle before the suspect fled with various items, including diamond rings and gold chains.

“I was scared, but I had to do something, you know? I was by myself,” Ouhan stated in the interview. While Ouhan was uninjured, her family reported thousands of dollars in merchandise losses and damages.

As noted in the coverage, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male, aged 45 to 55. He reportedly cut himself during the smash-and-grab, leaving blood evidence at the scene. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Montclair Police Department.
