At 7:11 p.m. the black male suspect pictured below carried out a grab and run at a mall retail jewelry store. The suspect tried on a gold necklace, grabbed another pieces of jewelry, and ran out of the store with the sales associate chasing him.
The suspect entered a silver, newer model Chevrolet Camaro, 2-door, and the sales associate confronted the suspect and latched onto the vehicleâ€™s roof. The sales associate hung onto the car for nearly a quarter-mile, and was thrown to the pavement, critically injured and still hospitalized.
The suspect is described as light-skinned, 6â€™1â€, 25-30 years old, muscular and with a trimmed beard. He was possibly accompanied by another suspect who was driving the getaway car.
It is reported that the same suspect may have carried out a grab and run on August 9, 2016 in Port Richey, FL, and another in Clearwater, FL. If you have information, contact Detective C. Parsons of the Hillsborough County Sheriffâ€™s Office at 813-247-0539.
