On 7/17/17, a suspect said there was a chain on hold for him, however, he did not provide a name. He stated the chain was a 24” or 26” yellow gold chain. The sales associate pulled out a box containing chains from the under stock and placed it on the counter. The suspect pointed to two chains in the case and the sales associate presented the items. The suspect asked the associate what type of deal he could get. At that point, the sales associate turned her back to get a calculator. She presented different options to the suspect who was undecided and left the store. After the sales associate did recounts, she realized that five gold chains were missing from the box. The suspect was described as a 50-year-old Black male. He is 6’2” tall and weighs 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing an arm hat and grey t-shirt. He also wore shorts and tennis shoes. He has a grey beard. If you have any information regarding the identity of this individual, please call the Florence Police Department at (859) 743-2928.
