Subjects use sledgehammers in jewelry store smash and grab

Westport, CT – On May 9, 2024, Officers from the Westport Police Department responded to a high-end jewelry store at 3:10 p.m., to investigate a report of a robbery.

Employees indicated two individuals wearing masks and gloves (pictured above) entered the store with hammers and proceeded to smash through display cases.

The state of Connecticut has seen a pattern of smash and grab robberies in recent weeks. Jewelers should remain alert and contact police to report any suspicious activity.
