Suspect entered through roof during jewelry store burglary

McAlester, OK – On May 6, 2019, 30-year-old Randy Lee Roe, broke into a jewelry store through the roof. He descended from the roof using an extension cord and proceeded to steal $45,000 worth of jewelry.

McAlester Police Officers responded to an alarm going off at the store on early Monday morning. Upon their arrival, Officer Daniel McHenry went to the back of the store. Roe ran to get behind a trashcan in the back of the business. Roe then fled into the woods. He was later found hiding under a tree.

After Roe was detained, Officer McHenry went back to the trashcan where Roe had fled from. He discovered a large quantity of jewelry which Roe had stolen from the store. Roe was charged with felony burglary in the second degree and felony grand larceny.
