SUSPECT PLEADS GUILTY TO JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY – HAMMOND, IN

Last week, 29-year-old Darren S. Bell, pleaded guilty to armed robbery. On 1/25/19, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Bell, his accomplice Antonio D. Benson, 40, along with another individual, entered a jewelry store in Hobart, IN. The subjects then proceeded to smash display cases with hammers. They took jewelry and then fled from the store. Bell pleaded guilty to a federal charge of armed robbery which interfered with interstate commerce. His sentencing date has not been set.
