79-Year-Old Jeweler Pistol Whipped in Robbery

February 22, 2023 - Flushing, NY

Flushing, NY – On February 22, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., two subjects committed a gunpoint smash and grab robbery and pistol-whipped the owner of an appointment-only jewelry business. One of the subjects dressed as an Amazon delivery person and held a box in his hand.

The subjects beat the 79-year-old jeweler with their gun, they pushed her down and dragged her to her office. They proceeded to demand she open the store’s safe.

Four subjects are currently being sought in connection to this crime. The New York Police Department has released pictures of the subjects, who are further below. Police say the two men pictured walking on the sidewalk below “acted in concert” with the two men who committed the robbery.

The jeweler’s daughter believes the business was cased for several months. Watch the videos below to learn more about the crime. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org.
