NYPD: Around $62,000 worth of jewelry stolen from 2 Williamsburg stores in separate incidents

Brooklyn, NY – April 17, 2024 – Jewelers in Williamsburg are on high alert Wednesday after two stores were burglarized within days of each other. Each business reported having around $30,000 worth of jewelry stolen.

The latest incident happened this past Sunday. Police say a man entered the store around noon and stole $32,000 worth of merchandise before running off. The suspect remains on the loose.

This comes just four days after another jewelry store down the street was also targeted. The entire incident was caught on camera.

The owner says the subject came in looking to make a purchase, and when he turned his head, the man quickly ran off and stole two gold chains worth $30,000. This subject is also on the run.

Authorities say the two incidents are not being investigated as linked to each other. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
