Oxford, MS– On April 19, 2026, a jewelry store was the victim of a grab and run theft. A lone male entered the store under the pretense of shopping for men’s jewelry. The suspect was interested in various solitaire earrings but, after a short time, he resumed walking around the store. At the gold showcase, the suspect wanted to examine a Cuban necklace to feel the weight. He then wanted to compare a men’s gold bracelet with the necklace. While the gold necklace was on the counter, the suspect grabbed the bracelet from the employee and the gold chain from the counter before fleeing the store. The suspect was in the store around five minutes. It is suspected the suspect has committed multiple grab and run thefts and stores should alert and staff trained on policy and procedures.
